Handgun 101 “Tyro”
This introductory course is designed for those students who have never fired a handgun before, those who are new to handgun shooting and have never received professional instruction, and those who are interested in firing a variety of handgun actions to aid them in the process of selecting the “right” handgun.
Duration: 2-day course offered on a Monday and Tuesday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Cost: $200 cash (Includes use of firearms, ammunition, Safety gear, and handouts.)
Prerequisites: Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course and in possession of a valid Restricted Firearms Licence or in the process (application sent) of obtaining a Restricted Firearms Licence. Students will move between the classroom and indoor shooting range while receiving clear, patient, instruction in the basic skills required to fire the handgun.
The course will use low recoil, rimfire semi-automatic pistols and revolvers to put the basics into practice. The course will finish with an introduction to, and the opportunity to fire, a variety of current high-quality, centre-fire handguns. The concept of this course is to provide the student with solid basic skills to develop upon and use those skills to “test drive” the type of handgun that is most suited to them.

Handgun 102 “Hit the Bull’s-Eye”
This course is designed for students with limited experience, experienced students that desire a greater degree of accuracy, and students that want an assessment of their technique. This is the type of course that students might find themselves taking more than once to really take advantage of the coaching and assessment.
Duration: 3.5 Hours
Cost: $80 cash
Prerequisites: Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course and Valid Restricted Firearms Licence. Students are encouraged to bring their own handgun, however, rentals are available. Students will need 200 rds of factory ammunition. Students will have the opportunity to build on basic skills and then refine the principles required to achieve greater accuracy. The process will incorporate clear instruction with a great deal of personal coaching and feedback. The use of specialized training drills incorporated in the course will bring on measurable improvement.

- • Sight alignment and trigger control drills

- • Tips for quality self-directed practice

Handgun 103 “Holsters and More”
Many handgun shooting sports have dynamic components beyond static marksmanship. This may incorporate holster use, the need to reload quickly, clear a malfunction, or move from one position to another.
Duration: 3.5 hours
Cost: $80 cash
Prerequisites: Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course, Handgun 101 or Equivalent, Valid Restricted PAL, Handgun, holster, 2 spare magazines or speed loaders (minimum 2), and pouches. Students will spend time in the indoor range participating in dry and live fire drills.

- • 3 steps to a perfect draw and presentation
- • Speed reload techniques for semi-automatics and revolvers
- • Clearing a malfunction quickly and safely
- • Shooting positions

Law Enforcement LE1 “The Tune Up”
There is no need to feel apprehensive about annual recertification. If your agency is not giving you the coaching you need or opportunity to improve your skills, this program is tailor made for you. The instructors are current and retired Police Officers with countless hours of training experience.
Duration: 3 hours
Cost: $80 Cash
Prerequisite: Currently a serving member of a Law Enforcement Agency.
Student must bring service sidearm, duty rig, spare magazines, and 200rds of factory ammunition.
